Enrichment of Wheat Straw At Saremco

Wheat waste | bundle of wheat straw

Wheat straw is one of the standard feeders for farm animals. Farm owners are using Wheat straws as a permanent part of their farm animal feed. More than 80% of farms are using this feed to maintain the carbohydrate intake of their animals.

“You can use it with green fodder or you can use it without it as well.”

It is available in the month from January to July. You can also store it because it has a long shelf life and uses it in different ways. People usually get wheat waste wholesale because, in bulk, they can get good deals.

Use of Urea to improve Wheat Straw values:

Wheat straw alone is not palatable and easy to digest. So to make it more palatable for the farm animals, you have to mix other things. This will help you to fulfil the nutritional amount of food that your animal required. Bales of straw get mixed with some other substances.

“Mix it with Urea or molasses.”

For enriching its value and nutritional volumes, you have to mix it with urea. It will increase not just its nutritional value but also help to make it more digestible.

You can either mix it with urea or with the other molasses to increase its Nutritional Value. It will increase Wheat waste consumption by animals.

Reason to add Urea in Wheat Bhosa?

Urea is the best source of nitrogen. It is used in the molasses of Wheat Straw Enrichment process for these following reasons:

  • It has Easy availability.
  • Urea spray makes the straw soft and easy to digest.
  • A cheap way of increasing proteins.
  • It has several beneficial effects on the quality of fodder and the animals’ growth, with no side effects.

Wheat Straw Enrichment Process:

Dissolve 4 kg Urea in 50 litres amount of water. Since we all know that urea doesn’t dissolve easily in water, add it in more water in small quantities, stirring it continuously around with a stick’s help. When all urea dissolved in the water, the mixture will be enough for 100 kilograms of Wheat Straw.

The best way to mix urea in bails of hay is to spread it on the ground and spray it with a sufficient Urea. Now again, put another layer of lowes straw bales and repeat this process. Now you can put some pressure on bails of hay to squeeze out the extra air.

In the other process, molasses is also used with urea. For 100 kilograms of Wheat Straw, At least 6 kilograms of urea is mixed with 50 litres of water, and 10 kg of urea is added. All the other steps of the process are the same. This mixture blends wholly and quickly if it is spraying on thrashing the point where Wheat Straw came up from the thresher.

After that, put a plastic sheet to protect it from air and moisture. If a sheet is not available, you can also set a layer of mud on it. Mud alone can also yield the required results. Ensure that the moisture in it is not more than 50%. The ideal temperature for all this process is 30-35C.

Wheat Straw Without Molasses:

This process has different effects on the Wheat Straw when it is treated with or without molasses. The quantity of the proteins in the Wheat Straw increases when only urea is used to prepare the Wheat Straw. But when molasses are mixed with Wheat Straw, besides increasing the volume of Protein, Straw content is also increased, and animals provide more energy to your farm animal.

After this Process:

When Wheat waste is kept covered in this process, You will see that some amount of urea is converted into ammonia gas and changing the color of Wheat waste. Now you have to increase the amount of protein in it and making it easily digestible for the animals. Fungi cannot grow in the Wheat Straw when Urea is mixed in it

Storage Duration?

In this process, you have to ensure that the bundle of wheat straw is covered for almost 30 days. After that, it is up to you that you want it in the close area or open-air area. It is totally up to you. One thing that you should keep in mind is that it should be kept safe from harsh weather.

The quantity that you should give animals:

Feed 4-5 kilogram fodder daily to pregnant and lactating animals, and even to those who are non-lactating animals. Use the straw by mixing it with green grass so that animal feed requirements are adequately fulfilled.

How much it will cost for Wheat straw Enrichment:

The cost of the process of Wheat Straw Enrichment is 1$ per kilogram only, but the use of enriched straw increases milk production by 20%. It means the rate of profit is much higher as compared to the cost.
